Moving the weight of the world.

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

How do you move when the weight of the world seems to be pushing hard upon your chest?

How do you see the light at the end of the tunnel when the fog doesn’t want to seem to lift?

How do you figure out where you’re going when you know your map is lying to you?

seperator

I’m going through this right now, and though it can be very hard to even breathe at times, you have to take care of yourself and your surroundings.

How I got a grip today.

I’m writing out what I have done today to find and remove the true reasons behind how I have been feeling, in the hopes it may help someone else along the line.

Sleep

Good nights sleep. I know it’s hard and I have no clue last night how I slept well, but letting your body and mind recoup are important.

Express

Have a place to be able to just let out how you are feeling. Could be a message board or a good friend. Try to find someone that isn’t immediately attached to your life. People who are good listeners, but are not so close that they know what cereal you eat in the morning. :) This helps build new ideas and thoughts.

Clear it Out

Clear your space/house, where ever you are spending your time. Clear it out physically and energetically. I believe that all that negative energy around helps feed the negative within us.

I use Native American smudge. Generally cedar, but it could be sage or sweet grass. Sometimes I will use all three depending on how things feel. You could use anything like incense or candles. You could even use fresh flowers.

I will walk from room to room with some kind of soothing music or chanting playing in the background. In a sense you are blessing your home/space and removing all that energy that is holding you down. To me it’s the same principle as a battery on your car. If the alternator isn’t providing new energy to charge the battery, the battery eventually dies and the vehicle won’t be able to move.

I just went through my calendars in the house and my desk planner and removed all the old pages, the months gone by. They were a reminder to me of the things that I haven’t accomplished like I had wanted and the tough times I am enduring now. I want to stay in the now and the future. The past is behind us and doesn’t define us.

Physically clear your home/space. Clear out the clutter, the things you never use, and take those bills that are staring at you from your desktop and put them in an envelope. You aren’t going to forget they are there, but they don’t need to be a thorn constantly irritating you every time you sit down at your desk.

Rituals for You – Meditation, exercise, etc.

Find some morning and evening rituals that mean something to you and your soul. I have been very lax in the past few months and I believe that’s where my trouble started. I became very unbalanced in body and spirit.

My day starts with meditation and chanting.

Then I go outside, usually barefoot (weather permitting)… and pay homage to all that is wild and sacred around me. I may sit for a while and just listen. Animals and nature have a story to tell you if you are quiet enough to listen.

Once back inside I do a bit of yoga. I am limited because of my back, but it helps build my balance physically and mentally. It also warms up my muscles a bit for exercise.

Finished with my yoga, I move onto the elliptical. Depending on how I feel I may go an hour, but 30 min is generally the norm for me.

After that I will go about my day until just about lunch time and then I will do some Tai Chi, just to keep my energy clear mid day.

When the rest of my day has passed and all those daunting chores are taken care of I will go back to my studio and meditate again. This is when I will usually talk to the universe and thank the powers that be for my day and let it be known what I am looking for in my life. I will repeat this evening request in my morning meditations also.

Reflections

Pay attention to the fact that anything you may screw-up is not a reflection of who you are. It may be a reflection of learned practices, conscious and unconscious, but it’s not WHO you are. Once you realize the patterns and can face them, they are changeable. It’s not easy, but more understandable once you have that A’ha moment.

Feed Yourself

Eat healthy. We have had zeerooo monies around here, so I have been shopping and making more with whole, real foods. Not only do you eat better and healthier by not having all the packaged and processed crap, I have noticed the amount of garbage we produce from it is very low. Do something awesome for yourself and the environment…eat healthy!

Drink water. Water is one of the main elements to sustaining life. Soda and fake juices don’t do anything but spike sugar levels and make you feel more drawn out and stressed than you already are. Personal experience here guys! My newest addiction is Pepsi Max. Oooof!

Do for Others. Give to Others

I am going to be starting a project soon that won’t solve any of my money issues right now, but will allow me to give back in a  small way to all the faboulous people that have been helping me along and encouraging me. The thought of having so many friends all over the world is just mindblowing to me yet.

What would you like to say?

What are things you do to *bring yourself back*?

How do you overcome and rise above money problems in business or personal life?
