Changing aspects of your life seems to also include changing parts of your environment.
So far, I have taken a circular saw to my huge, old corner desk and replaced it with a nice simple mission style desk. Looks like an old writing desk. Ya know, back when people wrote more than typed.
That led to tossing out more stuff that has been hanging around and cluttering not only my space but, my mind. Purging the old from your *space* does wonders for letting the new in.
Could I leave it at that..oh no!
Sitting at my new desk, admiring my new, clean space. I notice something. The hallway. That blue..oh…that blue. That blue needs to go. A nice hot cocoa brown would be just scrumptious.
But, the hallway wall also runs into the kitchen and becomes a kitchen wall. That wall leads to the west wall. Where we just put in a new window not that long ago. That area still needs to be finished and drywalled.
Just when you think you are making one little personal change in the beginning, the whole house gets turned on it’s ear. Or rear for that matter.
Then the thought…well, that wall probably could use some new insulation. Down comes the old drywall and up goes the new. Now toasty warm with its overly fluffy stuffings.
That leads back to the kitchen/hallway wall. Oh, the agony of painted over wallpaper. I hate wallpaper. If I ever remark about putting any up, please feel free to poke me in my eye!
All I wanted was scrumptous hot cocoa colored walls.
I’ll be working on this process for a while. But, with every change… personal or otherwise…another change takes place. Building on that first one and improving everything overall.
